About The OPS
Since its creation in 1995, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has dedicated itself to providing excellent service.
More than 1,350 officers and 575 civilians work for OPS.
In 2011, OPS received 939,598 calls, which included calls to 911, our Call Centre, Info Desk, and Switchboard. Of those calls, 78,162 were classified as 'Priority 1' calls to 911 (which includes emergency or life threatening situations).
