Are you under 24 and interested in sharing ideas
and working together with police for a safer Ottawa? The Ottawa Police is launching a Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and wants you to get involved in policing by helping with decisions, projects and events that matter.
YAC comes straight from ideas and suggestions we heard at the Let’s Chat Youth Café, where young people and police chatted about their ideas for an Ottawa Police YAC.

15-20 people – age 24 and under - will be selected to sit on the YAC committee, as well as up to three police members.

The first meeting will be held in April on a date that is most convenient for the majority of the newly selected YAC members.

We estimate that the YAC will require those selected to give 4-5 hours per month. However, the number of hours will be finalized once YAC has their first meeting together. The first meeting will be held at the Ottawa Police Headquarters (474 Elgin St.) All subsequent meeting locations will be decided upon by the YAC members.
