Two suspects and a person of interest to be identified in swarming

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating the swarming robbery of a young male on Halloween night and is seeking the public’s assistance to identify two suspects and a person of interest in the ongoing investigation.

On October 31, 2015, at approximately 10:05pm, a 17 year old male was walking along Longfields Drive near Woodroffe Avenue when he was accosted by a lone male suspect. The suspect demanded the victim’s cellphone and continued to assault the victim. Witnesses reported having also seen a second suspect at the scene, who participated in the assault on the victim.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries. He has been released from hospital.

The two suspects are described as follows:

  • Suspect #1 is described as a black male, approximately 18-20 years of age, 5’10” (178cm).  He was wearing a black leather coat and a black baseball cap.
  • Suspect #2 is described as tanned skinned male, approximately 18-20 years of age, dark, “styled” hair. He was wearing dark clothes (no baseball cap).

As a result of the ongoing investigation, images of two suspects were recently obtained. In these images, the two suspects are in the company of a third male that investigators also wish to identify.

The third male, a person of interest, is described as a black male, approximately 18-20 years of age.  He is dressed in beige pants, a blue hooded sweatshirt and wearing a backpack.

These three persons are encouraged to contact the Ottawa Police Robbery Unit directly.

Anyone with information with respect to this robbery, these persons, or any other robbery, is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116.
