Court Security

Court Security Special Constables can work within three different environments of the Ottawa Police Service, those being the Ottawa Court House detention Cell Block, the Ottawa Police Central Division cellblock facility, as well as the Provincial Offences Court referred to as POA Court, which is located within City of Ottawa building, located at 100 Constellation.

The Court Security Constables are responsible for the safe transportation and custody of persons being moved between detention facilities and other locations such as court. They also ensure the safe and secure custody of persons in custody at the Ottawa Police Central cellblock facility.

The Court Security Special Constables can acquire training to take DNA samples and/or fingerprints.
