The Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit and the Ottawa Police Service Crime Unit are aggressively focusing efforts towards the Investigation and Prosecution of Cocaine, Crack Cocaine and Methamphetamine abuse and traffickers in the City of Ottawa.

Marijuana Grow Operations

The Ottawa Police Service provides the locations of dismantled marijuana (also spelt 'marihuana') grow operations and clandestine crystal meth labs as a result of the Notification of Marijuana Grow Operation Protocol Agreement between police services and municipalities.

Information will be sent to the City Clerk's Office, City of Ottawa, where a request to obtain the information can be made. It will be posted here for three months.

Risks Associated with Former Marijuana Grow Houses

In the interest of public safety, the Ottawa Police Service would like to advise the public of potential dangers associated with marijuana grow operations.

Some smaller home operations uncovered by police may not have incurred extensive damage, and may not have used an electrical bypass, but most do.

Large indoor marijuana grow houses require large amounts Photo of damange in a former Marijuana Grow House.of water, chemicals, light and heat. An unsuspecting purchaser of a former grow house can face problems if not informed on the history and current condition of the house.

Sometimes damage is not visible and the owner or real estate agent may not be fully aware of the problems.
