Firearms Unit
The Firearms Unit plays a valuable role within the Police Service and community. Unit staff provide information and direction to firearms owners and the firearms community, and administrative support to our officers. Unit staff are there to answer your questions - whether they deal with firearms instructors, examiner lists or processes and procedures under the Firearms Act. The Firearms Unit also investigates Firearms Licence applications on behalf of the Chief Firearms Officer in Ontario.
Applications for firearms licences and applications to register firearms, as well as other forms, are available by calling the Canadian Firearms Centre toll free at 1-800-731-4000 or at the Canadian Firearms Centre Web site. Some applications may actually be completed and submitted on the Web site.
