High School Cooperative Education Program (Co-op)

The Ottawa Police Service High School Cooperative Education Program provides students with valuable work experience while assisting our organization in maintaining a strong relationship with the surrounding community. We recognize the variety of experiences available for students within our organization and are proud to be able to provide placements for students each year.

An application package is sent via email to all area Cooperative Education teachers and school boards in early May for the September - January semester, and at the end of October for the February - June semester. The package consists of a list of all available Coop positions in the Service, an application form,  and an interview schedule. Students will be invited to attend a practical and behavioural interview to assess their suitability for a placement, and all eligible students will be required to undergo a background check conducted by our Service at no charge to the student.

Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator via email at VolunteerCoordinator@ottawapolice.ca or by calling 613-236-1222 x5850, if you would like to learn more about the Ottawa Police Service High School Cooperative Education Program.

*Summer Students Due to budget restrictions, we no longer operate a summer student program.
