Fatal collision between OC Transpo and VIA Rail train in Ottawa

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, September 18, 2013        10:47am

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a collision with five confirmed fatalities between an OC Transpo double decker bus and a VIA Rail train that occurred this morning at approx. 8:48am near the intersection of Fallowfield and Woodroffe avenue.

Emergency responders are on scene of the collision. All available resources are allocated to the scene.

There is a road closure in effect on Woodroffe Avenue between Fallowfield and Slack Road.

Concerned families members can contact the City of Ottawa at 3-1-1 for further info.

There is no further information available at this time. Updates will follow.
