Two persons of interest to identify in Carsons Road homicide, with videos

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is seeking the public’s assistance to identify two persons of interest in relation to the July 27th shooting death of Mohamed Hassan on Carsons Road and releasing videos.

The persons of interest are seen in two separate videos:

  • Video #1 shows a black male subject walking alone in a white t-shirt, grey pants, dark shoes, dark baseball cap and a facemask; and
  • Video #2 features a white female in dark shorts, light sleeveless top, shoulder length dark hair and flip flops (please note that the male walking by her side in this video with a white t-shirt and orange track pants is not a person of interest).

Homicide investigators wish to speak to anyone who may have seen, or have knowledge of the identity, of either of these persons. If you have any information about this matter, please contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit Tip Line at 613-236-1222, ext. 5477.

Carsons Road Death Investigation, victim identified

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit is investigating the suspicious death of a male discovered along a walking path located behind Samuel Genest High School in Ottawa’s east end. The body was discovered around 5:15 pm yesterday.

The deceased male has been identified as Mohamed Hassan, 21 years old of Ottawa. The cause of death is not being disclosed at this time pending autopsy results.

The investigation continues and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.
