Assault with a weapon near Lincoln Heights – suspect to identify

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, July 22, 2021   1:15pm

 (Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service West Investigations Unit is seeking the public’s help to identify an individual responsible for an Assault with a weapon that occurred in the area of Woodroffe and Byron Avenue on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

At approximately 12:00pm, Frontline Patrol officers responded to a call about a man with a knife trying to stab a woman. The man was not known to her, and it was an unprovoked incident. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The man fled the area on foot toward Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 40-50 years old, with short blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, black shoes, and a grey Movati gym bag across his chest (see photo).
