Gun seized following traffic stop in Downtown core, three men charged

(Ottawa)—Ottawa Police PIVOT officers stopped a vehicle after observing a Highway Traffic Act violation at the intersection of Beausoleil Drive and York Street last evening at approximately 7:40pm.

One of the occupants was arrested and the vehicle was searched. As a result, a loaded handgun was located and seized and the other two occupants were also arrested.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit jointly charged the three males following its investigation.

Hassan ALBBOUDY, 21 years old, of Ottawa; Ali AL-RUBEII, 20 years old, of Ottawa; and Achmed DACHASS, 26 years old of Ottawa are charged with: 

  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a restricted weapon other than place shown on registration
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Common nuisance
  • Possession of a scheduled substance
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

DACHASS is facing an additional charge of Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

All three men are scheduled to appear in court today.
