FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, July 14, 2020   12:07pm

(Ottawa)—This morning, Ottawa Police Service officers were called to an Orleans-area address after a four-year-old boy was reported missing.

As the investigation and search continued, Ottawa Police determined the incident met the threshold of an Amber Alert and began the process with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to issue one. Simultaneously, public advisories were also immediately issued through OPS communication channels and Media Relations Office.

While the process for an Amber Alert was underway, including phone alerts through Amber Alert Ontario, the boy was safely located by the Toronto Police Service.

A 27-year-old man was also taken into custody.

The matter remains under investigation by the Ottawa Police.

We wish to thank the public and the media for their assistance and our colleagues at the Toronto Police Service.
