FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, January 5, 2015     4:00pm

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is looking to identify the suspect of a break and enter that occurred at approx. 6:00pm in the Ridgemont area on December 23, 2015.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 25-35 years old, 5'10"-6ft (178 cm to 183 cm) tall, thin to medium build, with facial hair on his chin. The male was wearing a dark coloured tuque and dark-coloured clothing with a backpack (see photos and video.)

He entered the residence by kicking in the front door and took jewellery from the home.

Between December 11 and 30th, a total of 15 other homes in the Ridgemont and Southgate neighbourhoods were broken into in the same manner - a suspect kicked in the front or side door, stole jewellery, money and sometimes electronics from the homes. In some instances, the suspect was seen leaving the area on a bicycle. These incidents have occurred between the hours of 2:00pm and 10:00pm.
