Ceremonial Guard

Ottawa Police Colour Party

"By the Left...Quick March!"

From Parliament Hill to Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Ottawa Police Service's Ceremonial Guard participates in a wide variety of ceremonial presentations each and every year.

The Ceremonial Guard provides a formal police presence to many of the events within our community throughout the year. They can also be seen marching for delegates at conferences, new recruits at swearing-in ceremonies, and a wide range of community events as well as funeral services for Fallen Officers across the country.

The Ceremonial Guard works in concert with the Ottawa Police Service's Pipes and Drums . Ottawa residents can take pride knowing the OPS Pipe Band are known as one of the premier pipe bands in the province.

Members selected to join the OPS Ceremonial Guard take on OPS Colour Partythe privilege and responsibility of representing each and every member of the Police Service throughout the year. Shining boots, pressed uniforms, an awareness of the drill and discipline are required to maintain their composure in front of a crowd. The Ceremonial Guard members are selected based upon interest, knowledge of drill, and willingness to contribute to the team. Each member holds a true appreciation of the importance of promoting and maintaining our positive image within the community.

Ask any member of the Ottawa Police Ceremonial Guard, they will tell you that it is always a pleasure to represent the many hard working men and women of the Ottawa Police Service whether it be in our own community, across the country, or beyond.
