Experienced officers and foreign applicants should first read information specific to their interests. Please note for foreign applicants:  One of the minimum requirements to become a police constable is being eligible to work in Canada. You must be a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen before applying to the OPS. If you are not a Canadian citizen and wish to apply with the OPS, see the Citizenship and Immigration Canada site on how to obtain permanent residency.

You can create an account on Halogen by selecting which job application you want, above. However, please note that when you apply, you must answer all the questions and upload ALL documents in one session. Failure to do so will result in the candidate being screened out of the process. You will have to wait one year to re-apply.

When you submit your application online, make sure to submit either scanned or electronic versions of the following three documents to complete your application:

  1. Your OACP Certificate;
  2. *CPR Level C certification certificate; and
  3. *Standard First Aid certification certificate.

While you do not have to upload a copy of your full G Ontario driver's licence, or provincial equivalent, you will need to have this to proceed in the process.

*Please note: We require applicants to have completed the hands-on practical component of First Aid and CPR training. Online-only certifications will not be accepted.
