Police Record Checks

The Customer Service Desk at 2670 Queensview Drive is CLOSED for all walk-in service.

All Record Check requests can be submitted online.

Any questions or concerns related to your Record Check should be directed to RecordsCheck@ottawapolice.ca. This email is monitored during normal business hours between 7:30a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Our Queensview location continues to provide service by appointment only to adhere to Ottawa Public Health and provincial guidelines for physical distancing. We remain closed for walk-in service. We are currently scheduling appointments for in-person visits for identity verification, payment and vulnerable sector fingerprinting for online applications received in early May.

We are contacting people who need to visit us in person to complete their Records Check. Please wait to be contacted.

If you require employees or volunteers to complete a Police Records Check, please note there may be a delay in completing the records check if an in-person visit is required. In accordance with public health guidelines, our lobby capacity is limited.

Did you know that organizations have the ability to request a self-declaration of criminal convictions? It can be used as a temporary measure until the Police Records Check application can be completed in its entirety. Police Records Checks are just one of the tools available to screen prospective employees or volunteers, in addition to interviews, reference checks, verification of credentials/licences/certifications, and in some cases, more thorough background checks. If you require employees or volunteers to complete a Police Records Check, please note that we are currently making appointments for people who submitted their application in May.

Please continue to submit your records check application online.
