GLBT Liaison Committee

In the last 30 years, the OPS GLBT Liaison Committee has played a vital role in improving services to the LGBTQ2S+ community in Ottawa.

The committee in its former composition and mandate has concluded and work is underway with multiple stakeholders to help inform the way forward. The attached report is the first of a number of steps being taken, and as more information is available to be shared, it will be distributed and posted.

In the meantime, the community’s central point of contact will continue to be the OPS Diversity Resource and Relations Unit (DRR), who can be reached via email and they will coordinate with the other contacts below:

  1. The OPS Employee Resource Group will assist with any internal 2SLGBTQ+ issues
  2. Hate-motivated incidents can be reported to or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The Ottawa Police Service continues to be committed to providing bias neutral services to the 2SLGBTQ+ community members in Ottawa.
