Ottawa Police spokesperson available on July 1st and July 2nd

The Ottawa Police Service Media Relations Office will be open on Saturday, July 1st from 10:00am to approx. 1:30am on Sunday, July 2nd

The media office will also open on Sunday, July 2nd from 2:30pm to approx. 10:00pm.

Constables Chuck Benoit and Alain Boucher will be available to respond to media inquiries.

All media inquiries for the Ottawa Police should be directed to 613-236-1222, ext. 5366.

The Media Relations Section is open Monday - Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, and can be contacted at 613-236-1222, ext. 5366.

After hours, members of the media can contact the Ottawa Police Divisional Duty Desks for assistance:

The Media Relations Section plays a key role within the Police Service by building and maintaining the public's understanding and support of our services. Our goal is to provide timely and accurate information to the public, via the media. This is done by issuing news releases, holding news conferences, responding to media inquiries and arranging interviews with our officers and personnel.

Ottawa Police spokespeople: 

Constable Marc SoucyCst. Marc Soucy has been with the Ottawa Police Service since 1988.  During his career, he worked in several sections including Patrol, Sexual Assault/Child Abuse, Community Policing, and as a School Resource Officer.  Marc joined the Media Relations Section in March 2011 and he looks forward to new challenges before him. 

 

 

Constable Chuck Benoit

 

 

Cst. Chuck Benoit has been with the Ottawa Police Service since 2001. During his career, he worked as a Patrol officer, a Neighbourhood officer, and a Community Police officer. He started as a Bike Instructor for the Ottawa Police in 2003 and became a Master Bike Instructor in 2011. He was a Liaison for nine years with local youth group home. He is also certified to work with the Marine Unit. Chuck joined the Media Relations Section in June 2013.
