The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has selected two programs benefitting at-risk youth to share the proceeds of the 2019 OPS Gala. They are the Snowsuit Fund and Operation Come Home. A donation will also be made to the Beechwood Cemetery.

Operation Come Home

For Operation Come Home, the funding will go towards helping youth navigate and engage with different employment programs so that they can not only find, but retain employment.

“Operation Come Home is incredibly grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients for this year’s Ottawa Police Service Gala,” said Lynda Franc, Director of Development for Operation Come Home. “This money will ensure that we can offer meaningful programs to assist some of the region’s most vulnerable youth at risk. Thank you again for your support!”

Snowsuit Fund

The Snowsuit Fund was selected for its incredible work as a local, grass-roots organization. Annually, it provides winter coats and snowsuits to 16,000 children and youth.

“The Snowsuit Fund could not deliver the critical service it provides to vulnerable youth in Ottawa without the support of events like these,” said Margaret Armour, Fundraising Coordinator for The Snowsuit Fund. “We are very fortunate to have this important partnership with the Ottawa Police Service and we value their commitment to community building.”
