Police Week

Community Policing Forum and Police Week Launch

We are pleased to launch Police Week 2019 in Ottawa at our first Community Policing Forum.

The purpose of the Community Policing Forum is to identify needed improvements and actionable recommendations to advance community policing in Ottawa through community involvement.

We will make time to reflect on the notion that safety and quality of life are shared responsibilities, by engaging with participants to come up with ways of improving community well being, safety and security.

Monday, May 13th, 2019
Time:  8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
St. Elias Centre, 750 Ridgewood Avenue

POLICE WEEK

The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services designates Police Week in Ontario in May to coincide with International Peace Officers' Memorial Day, which is May 15th.

This Ministry-led initiative is an annual event that is focused on raising awareness about the great work of police services, and showcasing the diversity of roles across the profession.

The provincial theme this year is ‘Proudly Supporting Our Police!’ It promotes the policing profession as well as highlights the government’s commitment to ensuring that police services have the tools and resources they need to protect our communities.
