East-end man charged with child pornography offences

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) has arrested and charged an Ottawa man following a joint investigation with Homeland Security Investigations, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police National Child Exploitation Crime Centre (RCMP NCECC) and the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) that begun in 2022.
Yesterday, the ICE Unit, with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Section, Digital Forensic Section, and the East Neighbourhood Resource Team, executed a warrant at a residence in the East end of Ottawa, where the man was arrested.
Brent MCMULLEN, 57-years-old, of Ottawa, has been charged with:
- Make child pornography
- Make written child pornography
- Unlawfully possess child pornography
- Access child pornography
- Sexual interference
- Telecommunication agreement to commit specific criminal offence with another under 18 years of age
He appeared in court yesterday.
