Charges laid in Fatal Collision on Highway 174

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Unit Investigators have charged the driver responsible for this fatal collision.
A 33-year-old Ottawa resident has been charged with:
- Failure to comply with demand causing death
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death
They remain in custody.

Fatal Collision on Highway 174
(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Friday, September 15, 2023.
At approximately 2:43 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 174 near Kinsella Drive.
The driver of one vehicle, a 65-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The other driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
Highway 174 was closed in both directions for several hours to process the scene. The road has since reopened.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of this incident and have not yet spoken to police.
