Man Charged for Indecent Act in Centretown

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Neighbourhood Resource Team charged a man yesterday following public complaints of an individual causing a disturbance near Wellington and Lyon Streets.

At approximately 5:00 pm, officers responded to the area and located a man yelling and making threats to passers-by and other residents.

The man also exposed his genitals and made sexual gestures.

He was immediately arrested.

Ahmed HASHIEM, 33 years old, of Ottawa, has been charged with:

• Committing an indecent act in a public place
• Uttering threats
• Causing a disturbance

He is scheduled to appear in court today.
