Homicide Investigation - Orleans suspect arrested

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit has arrested and charged 27-year-old Muhammad KHATTAK of Ottawa with second degree murder in the August 7^th fatal stabbing of Varney Marshall on Mockingbird Drive. 

KHATTAK is scheduled to appear in court today.

Homicide investigation on Mockingbird Drive in Orleans

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is now investigating the death of a man in the 300 block of Mockingbird Drive in the evening of August 7, 2024 as a murder.

Varney Marshall, 34-year-old, was located deceased by emergency service providers around 6:35 pm at a home. He had been stabbed.   

Investigators are seeking out surveillance video from residents and persons who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Suspicious Death Investigation-Orleans

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the suspicious death of a 34-year-old male that occurred in the 300 block of Mockingbird Drive in the overnight hours of August 7, 2024.   Victim identification is not being released pending next of kin notification.
