Man charged with possession of child pornography and luring

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) arrested and changed an Ottawa man following a joint investigation with the Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit (NAICE).
On March 19th, the Ottawa Police received information from NAICE regarding an Ottawa man making attempts to lure an underaged person that lives in Alberta. Yesterday, with the assistance of multiple OPS sections including, the Surveillance Unit, the South Neighbourhood Resource Team and Frontline Patrol officers, the man was arrested.
Eric CYR, 48-years-old, of Ottawa, was charged with the following:
- Telecommunication with a person under the age of 18 for a specific criminal offence x3;
- Making sexually explicit material available to a child;
- Making child pornography;
- Unlawfully possessing child pornography
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
