Shaw Centre
The 13th Annual Ottawa Police Gala is proud to support the Multifaith Housing Initiative and the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Ottawa.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of elegance and entertainment while making a meaningful contribution to our community.
Gala Beneficiaries
Every year, local charities are selected as beneficiaries of the Gala fundraising. The charities are picked because of shared values with the OPS, a willingness to pitch in and help, and an established network within the community to help with the fundraising efforts.
“It's an investment for us,” said Chief Eric Stubbs. “We value what these charities bring to the table.”
As beneficiaries, charities can embark on some ambitious projects that had been put on hold due to funding constraints.
Services provided by these organizations are vital to community health, safety and well-being, and it is our honour to work with them, developing partnerships that last beyond the Gala itself.
The Gala is also an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and professionalism of the men and women of the OPS, both civilian and sworn members.
This year, the gala will support two exceptional organizations dedicated to making a positive impact in our community: the Sexual Assault Support Center of Ottawa and the Multifaith Housing Initiative.
The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Ottawa
The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Ottawa (SASC) is dedicated to ending gender-based violence and providing survivor-directed support services to all women and survivors. Since its establishment in 1983, SASC has been committed to creating a safe space for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous peoples, immigrants, refugees, and those with disabilities. With a foundation rooted in feminist and anti-oppressive values, SASC offers a range of services aimed at increasing public awareness, providing training, and advocating for systemic change to address gender-based violence and its intersections with other forms of oppression.
Multifaith Housing Initiative
Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI) strives to ensure that everyone has access to safe, affordable, and continuous housing in inclusive communities. By focusing on long-term solutions and engaging with individuals to understand their needs, MHI works to provide permanent housing first, followed by support services and community connections. With a vision to lead in developing innovative housing solutions within inclusive communities, MHI is committed to making affordable housing the norm in Ottawa and beyond.
Since 2010, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Gala has raised over $1 million for local charities, helping organizations across Ottawa help those most in need.
