73-year-old man charged by Internet Child Exploitation Unit
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, June 5, 2026 11:50 a.m.
(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has charged a 73-year-old man with offences related to Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials (CSAEM).
On June 4, 2026, the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the south end of Ottawa.
Following the examination of devices seized at the scene, Wilbert Reid Telfer was arrested and charged with possessing and accessing CSAEM.
The investigation is ongoing pending the examination of a significant number of electronic devices seized at the scene.
Telfer appeared in court on June 4, 2026.
