Bruce Pit stabbing suspect to identify

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, July 7th, 2025 4:40 p.m.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is looking for the public’s help to identify a suspect involved in a stabbing that occurred on July 6, in Bruce Pit.

At approximately 2:50 p.m., patrol officers responded to a call for service after a man was stabbed while walking along the main path at Bruce Pit.

The victim had stopped to smoke when he was approached by an unknown male who asked to share the cannabis he was smoking. When the victim refused, the suspect stabbed him in the leg and fled the area on foot.

The victim was treated on scene by paramedics and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous male, believed to be between 50 and 60 years old, with long hair and a scruffy beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a Blink-182 sweatshirt and cargo shorts. He is believed to be experiencing homelessness.
