Canada Post Recognizes Ottawa Police with National Partnership Award

A year of collaboration, leadership, and shared commitment to safety

Canada Post Security & Investigation Services has presented the Ottawa Police Service with the 2025 Law Enforcement Ally of the Year Award, a national honour that celebrates exceptional partnership and meaningful collaboration between policing agencies and Canada Post operations across the country. The recognition reflects the important work carried out over the past year to support employee safety, community well-being, and secure mail service for residents.

This award acknowledges the close working relationship between Canada Post and the OPS Event Management Section and Police Liaison Team (PLT), who have provided ongoing support, guidance, and operational coordination on a range of situations affecting postal services in Ottawa. From proactive planning to incident response and community engagement, these teams have worked together to ensure safe and reliable operations during a period of increasing demand on public services.

Members of Event Management and PLT were recognized for their steady leadership and solutions-focused approach. Their ability to navigate complex situations, maintain open communication, and provide consistent support to Canada Post employees has been instrumental in strengthening this partnership.

Canada Post emphasized that OPS played a key role in helping address emerging challenges, offering timely assistance and contributing to a safer environment for both staff and the public. Their work exemplifies OPS’s broader commitment to working collaboratively with community partners to address operational needs and enhance public safety across the city.

This award is a meaningful milestone for the Service and reaffirms the value of the relationships built between OPS members and external organizations that rely on policing support. It also highlights the professionalism and dedication of the teams involved, whose day-to-day efforts often take place behind the scenes but have a significant impact on community safety and confidence.

Congratulations to all members recognized on this well-deserved honour and for representing the Ottawa Police Service with continued excellence.
