Fatal Collision at Nixon Dr / Dalmeny Rd: Police Seeking Witnesses

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sunday, June 28, 2026  6:38 p.m.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Investigations Unit is seeking witnesses to a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

At approximately 11:47 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of Nixon Dr / Dalmeny Rd in response to a collision involving two vehicles, a pickup truck and SUV. The collision resulted in the death of an eight-year-old girl in the SUV, and a woman in the SUV suffering minor injuries. Another child in the pickup truck, aged 6 years old, suffered minor injuries. The matter remains under investigation.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of this incident and has not yet spoken to police.
