Update 2: Homicide investigation on Mayview Avenue

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, January 30, 2026, 12:00 p.m.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has laid additional charges in the investigation into the homicide that occurred on Wednesday, January 28th, in the 1400 block of Mayview Avenue.

41-year-old Selina Rose O’QUINN of Ottawa has been charged with second-degree murder. She will appear in court today.

The investigation is ongoing.

Update: Homicide investigation on Mayview Avenue

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has arrested three people in connection with the homicide of 28-year-old Shawn Challis-Eatough of Brantford, Ontario, that occurred on Wednesday, January 28th, in the 1400 block of Mayview Avenue.

41-year-old Steve VIVIAN of Ottawa and 19-year-old Anthony MEREDITH of Kitchener, Ontario, have both been charged with second-degree murder.

Both men attended court today.

A 41-year-old Ottawa woman was also arrested this afternoon in relation to this investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 10:15 p.m.

Homicide investigation on Mayview Avenue

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Homicide Unit is investigating a death that occurred Wednesday, January 28th, in the 1400 block of Mayview Avenue.

Police and emergency responders were called to the area at approximately 7:10 pm. A person was located with life-threatening injuries, transported to hospital where they succumbed to their injuries shortly after.

Two individuals are currently in custody.

Police do not believe there is an ongoing risk to public safety. The investigation is ongoing, and officers remain in the area.

The victim’s name will not be released at this time until the next of kin have been notified.
