Warrant obtained for second suspect in shooting homicide on Carling Avenue

Wanted persons ATTEYEH and AKLI

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, July 18, 2024   1:22 pm

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is looking for public assistance to locate a second suspect involved in the shooting homicide on Carling Avenue on July 5th.

A Canada-wide warrant has been obtained for the arrest of Soubere Yusuf AKLI, 28 years old, of Ottawa for First Degree Murder.

He is described as a black male, 6’1” (185 cm), 187 lbs. (85kg) with dark eyes, and dark hair (see photo).

A Canada-wide warrant remains in effect for Kennedid ATTEYEH, 23 years old, of Ottawa for Accessory after the fact to murder as well as a new charge of First Degree Murder.

Police believe that both men have left the country.

If you see AKLI or ATTEYEH, please do not approach them; call 911 immediately.

Suspect to locate in shooting homicide on Carling Ave

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is looking for public assistance to locate a suspect involved in the shooting homicide on Carling Avenue near Kirkwood Avenue.

A Canada-wide warrant has been obtained for Kennedid ATTEYEH, 23 years old, of Ottawa for Accessory after the fact to murder.

He is described as a black male, 6’4” (193cm), with dark eyes, and short dark hair (see photo).

Police believe ATTEYEH has left the country.

If you see ATTEYEH, please do not approach him; call 911 immediately.

If you know where ATTEYEH could be, witnessed this incident or have information about this incident please contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.

Homicide Investigation: Victim identified

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting death of a 28-year-old man that occurred at approximately 6:09 pm on Friday, July 5th near Carling Avenue and Kirkwood Avenue.

The victim has been identified as Adam Abdullahi Elmi of Ottawa. 

Currently, no suspects are in custody, and the investigation continues. 

Investigators are seeking surveillance video from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Homicide Investigation-shooting at Carling Ave / Kirkwood Ave

(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting death that occurred this evening near the intersection of Carling Avenue and Kirkwood Avenue.

Police and emergency responders were called to the area at approximately 6:09 pm. A male victim was located with life-threatening injuries. The victim succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter in hospital. 

No arrests have been made. Police do not believe there is an ongoing risk to public safety. The investigation is ongoing.
