Human remains discovered near Rideau Road and Albion Road

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, February 24, 2026 3:06 p.m.

Ottawa, ON — The Ottawa Police Service is investigating the discovery of human remains in the area of Rideau Road and Albion Road.

On November 8, 2025, officers responded to reports of possible human remains in the area. Following an examination, the remains have been confirmed to be those of an adult male.

At this time, investigators are awaiting DNA analysis in hopes of determining the individual’s identity. This process is ongoing, and further updates will be provided when available.

Police are asking anyone who may have information that could assist in identifying the deceased to contact the Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5493.

Of note, Corey Baldwin has been missing since 2019 and is believed to have been the victim of a homicide. Mr. Baldwin was last seen at his residence in Greely, Ontario, a short distance from where the remains were located. While there is currently no confirmed connection, investigators are exploring all possible leads.

Police are urging anyone with information related to this discovery, or regarding the disappearance of Corey Baldwin, to come forward.

The investigation remains ongoing.
