Man arrested following suspicious incident involving children in Munster

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, June 18, 2026, 2:55 p.m.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has arrested a man following an investigation into a suspicious incident involving children in the Munster area.

On June 17, police received a report that four children under the age of 12 were approached by an unknown man in an SUV near the Munster Community Centre.

The man reportedly made inappropriate sexual comments toward the children before leaving the area.

There were no reported injuries and no physical contact.

The incident was investigated by frontline officers, with follow-up by the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit.

A man has since been arrested. Investigators are continuing to interview those involved, and charges are pending.
