Neighbourhood Operations Centre hosts Open House for Crime Prevention Week
As part of Crime Prevention Week, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) welcomed community members to the Neighbourhood Operations Centre (NOC) for an open house dedicated to safety and partnership.
The event brought together a variety of community partners and OPS officers to share resources, discuss local concerns, and exchange ideas on how to prevent crime in Ottawa’s neighbourhoods.
Over coffee and snacks, residents had the chance to speak one-on-one with Community Police Officers, ask questions, and learn more about ongoing initiatives designed to keep their communities safe.
“Policing is about partnership,” said Sgt. Sebastien Lemay. “The OPS will always be there to respond to crime, but true safety comes from working together—neighbours looking out for one another and being informed.”
Attendees learned about multiple OPS crime prevention programs like Agent Status, Bike Registration, CAMSafe, Safe Trade Zones, Safeguard Your Home, Theft Prevention and more.
Together, through these collaborative efforts, we can continue to build a safer Ottawa for all.
Visit our website to learn more about each initiative and follow us on social media to see what other districts are doing for crime prevention week!
