OPS member charged
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, July 8, 2026 2 p.m.
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has charged a member of the service with impaired driving-related charges.
Cst. Mathieu Boucher, age 41, was charged with Operation while impaired and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol over 80mg [CC. sec.340.14(1)(a) and 340.14(1)(b)] in an off-duty incident on June 27, 2026.
While he remains on active duty, he has been reassigned to administrative duties and is not currently serving in a frontline patrol capacity.
The OPS holds all officers to a high standard of conduct, both on and off duty, and expects their actions to reflect the trust and values of the community we serve.
