Ottawa Police Join Ottawa Community Housing Residents for Neighborhood BBQ
Yesterday, Ottawa Police community officers joined residents of Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) for a lively neighborhood BBQ, bringing together law enforcement and the community in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Property manager Chris Lee highlighted the importance of these events. “Events like this give residents a chance to build relationships with their local community officers, discuss topics of concern, and get to know the people who serve their neighbourhoods,” he said. “We do this at every location, and the residents really appreciate the opportunity to engage with officers.”
The BBQ featured food and plenty of conversation, allowing residents and officers to connect outside the usual context of policing. Officers answered questions, listened to concerns, and shared safety tips, fostering trust and understanding within the community.
Such gatherings are part of Ottawa Police Service’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, creating spaces where residents feel heard and supported while building positive relationships with those who serve them..jpg)
