Ottawa Police now investigating 2019 disappearance of Corey Baldwin as a homicide

Corey Baldwin

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, December 10, 2025 12:39 p.m.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is now investigating the 2019 disappearance of Corey Baldwin as a homicide. To help advance the investigation and identify those responsible, the OPS is offering a $75,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

The then 42-year-old Corey Baldwin was last known to be in the Montréal area in April 2019. He was reported missing to police in December of that year. Since then, the OPS Missing Persons Unit and Homicide Unit have undertaken an extensive, years-long investigation into his disappearance.

Based on the evidence gathered to date, investigators now believe that Corey Baldwin was the victim of a homicide. His remains have not been recovered, and for investigative reasons, the OPS cannot release further details about how this conclusion was reached.

Investigators believe Mr. Baldwin may have travelled to British Columbia shortly before he was reported missing, and are seeking to speak with anyone who may have encountered him in either the Montréal area or in British Columbia in 2019.

Corey’s family, including his two daughters, have waited years for answers. The OPS is committed to finding those responsible and bringing closure to his loved ones.
