Man Charged After Reports of Suspicious Activity in Barrhaven

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, August 26, 2026 1:30 p.m.

 The Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigations Unit has charged a 72-year-old man following reports of suspicious behaviour involving a male and vehicle in a Barrhaven neighbourhood.

 Police received reports of a newer-model, dark blue Mazda 3 sedan repeatedly attending the area of Longfields Drive and Calaveras Avenue between approximately 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. The vehicle was observed driving through the neighbourhood or parking on different streets. The driver, described as an older white male, was also seen walking in the area.

As a result of the investigation, officers identified an individual who was being targeted.

 The man was arrested on August 19, 2026 and charged with:

 ·         Criminal harassment – watching and besetting

·         Mischief – interfering with the lawful enjoyment of property

 He was held for a bail hearing.

 The accuseds identity is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
