The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) gives individuals the right to access records held by municipal institutions, including the Ottawa Police Service, and ensures the protection of personal information.

The Paid Duty Program allows clients to hire off-duty officers on a contract basis to provide a police presence at their events.
