Missing Persons

There is no 24-hour waiting period to report a person as missing.

Missing persons reports considered as high-risk investigations are assessed upon the information obtained at the time, and dependent upon conditions, environment and lifestyle of the person and are classified as a person who:

  • possess a physical or mental disability;
  • is elderly or very young;
  • is dependent on prescription medications;
  • is unfamiliar with the city;
  • wanderers or is an Alzheimer patient;
  • is engaged in a high-risk lifestyle; or
  • is associated with violent behaviour.

If there is an indication of foul play (suspicious or criminal activity), call 9-1-1 immediately. If foul play is not suspected, the Missing Person's Unit.

If you have information about any missing person, contact the Missing Persons Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2355 (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). You can also provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
