(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is pleased to introduce its newest class of recruits.
This class brings together individuals from a wide range of professional backgrounds spanning public safety, emergency services, healthcare, government, security, construction, business, and community-based work. Their experience includes roles with the RCMP, City of Ottawa, Ottawa Fire Service, federal government, conservation and by-law services, healthcare, youth services, and frontline support positions.
Their commitment to community engagement is also reflected through extensive volunteer involvement. This includes supporting youth programs, coaching sports, volunteering with community organizations, working with vulnerable populations, supporting individuals with disabilities, and contributing as volunteer firefighters and emergency responders.
Collectively, the group is multilingual, speaking languages such as French, Arabic, Bangla, Hindi, and Urdu, among others. They also hold post-secondary qualifications in fields including nursing, psychology, biology, social sciences, business, police foundations, criminology, and construction engineering.
With their diverse experiences, skills, and perspectives, the newest members of OPS are ready to begin their careers in policing and contribute to the safety and well-being of Ottawa's communities.
