Recruit Spotlight: Dana Boettcher

I was born and raised in the Ottawa area, so I'm excited for the opportunity to serve, protect and connect with the city that I love so much. 

Prior to joining the OPS, I received a bachelor's degree in criminology with concentration in law from Carleton University.  

After university, I worked as a Medical Office Assistant for a group of Pediatricians in the west end. I spent some of my free time volunteering with Ottawa Victim Services and at a long-term care home.  

Passionate about helping others, becoming a police officer has been a goal of mine since I was young. I love the challenging and dynamic nature of the job including its ability to provide a new learning opportunity with each encounter.
