Recruit Spotlight: Spec. Cst. Bikram Basra
Hi, I’m Special Constable Bikram Basra—a community advocate who’s passionate about helping others and making a difference wherever I can.
I’ve worked in public engagement, frontline support, and alongside law enforcement, including my time as an Auxiliary Officer with the Ottawa Police Service. I’ve also been involved with Canadian Blood Services and Shepherds of Good Hope, supporting people from all walks of life.
I’m originally from India and part of the Sikh community. I speak English, Punjabi, and Hindi, and I’ve been lucky to travel the world, which has really shaped how I connect with people. I’m also a former state-level handball player and a big fan of Royal Enfield bikes.
For me, community work isn’t just something I do—it’s something I believe in. I’ve always felt a strong responsibility to be there for others, especially those dealing with tough situations.
Whether it's through support, outreach, or just listening, I’m here to help build stronger, more connected communities.
Welcome to the Ottawa Police Service, Special Constable Basra!
