UPDATE: Suspect description updated in sexual assault investigation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, June 23, 2026  2:10 p.m. 

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit is providing an updated suspect description as investigators continue to seek witnesses, video surveillance, and dash cam footage related to a sexual assault at Heritage Dog Park, located at 6160 Orléans Boulevard.

The suspect is now described as a Black man, in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5’9” to 6’2” tall, with a fit/muscular build, a gap in his teeth, and long, shoulder-length dreadlock-style hair. He spoke English with no noticeable accent and was wearing beige/light-coloured clothing and a headband.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area of Heritage Dog Park at the time of the incident, or who may have witnessed anything suspicious, to contact the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5944, or by email at [email protected].

If you see the suspect, do not approach him and call 911.

Seeking Witnesses

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is seeking witnesses, video surveillance, and dash cam footage to identify a suspect following a sexual assault at Heritage Dog Park located at 6160 Orleans Blvd, Ottawa.

The Ottawa Police Service is looking to identify a suspect in relation to a sexual assault that occurred around 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Investigators are seeking to identify a suspect in relation to this incident. The suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • 30 yrs
  • 5’9
  • Long hair with dreadlocks
  • Beige shirt
  • Beige bandana on head

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area of Heritage Dog Park located at 6160 Orleans Blvd, Ottawa during that time and may have witnessed anything suspicious, to come forward. You can contact the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5944, or email [email protected]. If you see the suspect male, do not approach him and call 911.
