Serious collision in Barrhaven; investigation ongoing
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 1:12 p.m.
(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is seeking witnesses to a collision that occurred on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the intersection of Greenbank Road and Strandherd Drive.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a collision involving an e-bike (similar in appearance to a motorcycle) and a commercial refrigerated cube van. The e-bike rider sustained serious injuries.
A man in his twenties was transported to hospital where he remains in life-threatening condition.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of this incident and has not yet spoken to the police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPS Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2345.
