Suspects to identify in a series of aggressive retail thefts
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, January 13, 2026 10:45 a.m.
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is looking to identify three suspects in relation to a series of retail thefts occurring at box stores across Ottawa.
In several cases, when confronted by store staff, the suspects became aggressive, and assaults on employees have been reported. Police are concerned about the escalating behaviour and the risk to staff and the public.
Retail staff and members of the public are reminded not to physically intervene during thefts and to prioritize personal safety.
