Warrant executed at an unlicensed establishment on Gladstone Ave.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, May 26, 2026 2:20 p.m.
(Ottawa) – On May 23, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS), in partnership with Ottawa Fire Services, Ottawa By-law, the City of Ottawa, and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), seized large quantities of liquor and shisha products from an unlicensed establishment operating in the 700 block of Gladstone Avenue.
The investigation determined that the establishment was operating without a valid AGCO liquor licence while serving alcohol to patrons. The business was also found to be operating as an illegal shisha bar in contravention of provincial tobacco laws. In addition, numerous community concerns have been raised regarding ongoing noise disturbances and interference with the peaceful enjoyment of neighbouring businesses and residents.
As part of the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at the premises with assistance from multiple OPS units and partner agencies on May 23rd. The following items were seized:
- 37 bottles of liquor
- More than 150 beers and premixed alcoholic beverages
- 7 bottles of wine and champagne
- Approximately 5 kilograms of illegal shisha tobacco
- Approximately 100 hookah smoking devices
Multiple charges are anticipated to be laid by OPS and its partner agencies.
