Youth charged following Central District NRT investigation
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, March 13, 2026 11:45 a.m.
(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has laid multiple charges against a youth following a drug-related investigation on March 11.
Officers located and arrested the youth in the Station Boulevard area following an earlier incident where the individual fled from police during a traffic stop. Officers later identified the driver and developed grounds for arrest.
During a search incident to arrest, officers seized quantities of suspected Schedule I substances consistent with possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as a quantity of Canadian currency.
As a result of the investigation, the youth has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x4)
- Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (x4)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The investigation involved members of the OPS Central District Neighbourhood Resource Team (NRT), working in partnership with the Drug Unit. The Drug Unit continues to investigate.
No further information will be released as the accused is a youth, in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
This investigation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Neighbourhood Resource Team to address drug-related activity and hold individuals accountable.
