Charges laid in ByWard Market stabbing incident

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has charged a 25-year-old man following a stabbing on April 11th in the William Street and George Street area.
Following their investigation, the Central Criminal Investigation Unit have charged the 25-year-old with:
- Attempted murder
- Aggravated assault
- Possessing a dangerous weapon
- Carrying a concealed weapon
The investigation is ongoing.

Stabbing in ByWard Market under investigation
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a stabbing that occurred in the ByWard Market on April 11.
At approximately 11 p.m., officers responded to reports of an injured man in the area of George Street and William Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound.
The victim was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
At this time, there have not been any suspects identified and no one has been arrested.
The investigation remains ongoing.
